1979

The Deufol Group’s success story began in 1979 with the takeover of Dönne + Hellwig GmbH by Detlef W. Hübner, the grandson of the company’s founder at the time. Detlef W. Hübner systematically developed the company, which had previously operated as a textile wholesaler, into a competitive specialist for industrial and consumer goods logistics as well as in-house outsourcing – a concept which was later also trademarked (1996). Step by step, Dönne + Hellwig opened up new locations in Germany and expanded into other European countries with its first operations in Belgium. This early international orientation brought the company decisive competitive advantages and the associated market success.

1998

D.Logistics AG is founded as the parent company. In the following year, the entrepreneurial success story had progressed so far that the company was listed on the Neuer Markt stock exchange in Frankfurt am Main. As D.Logistics AG, the company expanded further, also extending into Italy.

2001

Venturing into the USA in 2001, the acquisition of J&J Packaging allowed to further expand its services and offered distribution and warehousing solutions to its customers. In 2008, D’Logistics changed its name to Deufol, and J&J Packaging became Deufol Sunman.

2010

The next important milestone: the international and unified Deufol Group is formed from a conglomerate of different companies. With the group-wide renaming, all national and international subsidiaries are united under the common Deufol brand. At the same time, the solution of D.Logistics as a company name is a conscious departure from the concept of “logistics” with a new content orientation: Deufol offers intelligent and individual services, strategies, overall concepts and solutions around the core competence of packaging.

2011

Deufol expands: The presence in the USA is further strengthened. In the state of North Carolina, the location in Charlotte is opened. In Roverbella, Italy, a new location is started up in direct connection with Kosme, a subsidiary of Deufol’s customer KRONES AG, and in Austria, the company Richard Wolfsberger Verpackungen GmbH is acquired 100%, which now operates under the name Deufol Austria GmbH.

2012

Deufol changes its corporate form and operates under the name Deufol SE (Societas Europaea) whilst continuing to expand worldwide. In Singapore, the company Deufol Asia PTE. LTD. is founded, thus increasing the basis for further growth in the Asian region.

2015

Vision 2020 is defined as part of the strategic expansion of Deufol SE. WE FOCUS ON PACKAGING + SUPPLY CHAIN LIMITS AND REMOVE THEM. This also goes hand in hand with the optimized CI of Deufol SE.

2016

Deufol continues to expand in the European market and brings the Austrian market leader in wood packaging and transport/loading RIEDER(R) on board. The groundbreaking ceremony for the new Deufol production plant takes place in Cheb, Czech Republic, which takes into account the necessary digital networking and flexible, highly automated series production within the framework of Industry 4.0.

2017

Deufol acquires Novaedes, the Belgian market leader for export packaging, and therefore expands its range of services for export packaging and logistics. This includes adding the strategically important port of Antwerp to the Deufol HUB network.
The Deufol Group announces the acquisition of three city operations from Bentley World Packaging in Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Cincinnati. This investment is in line with the strong growth of Deufol’s industrial packaging business in the North American market.
The highly automated Deufol production plant in Cheb starts production after only one year of construction.
